Meet Marshal Policy
For TEAMGOLDUSA-hosted or participated meets, marshals support athlete safety and deck order.
Role. Observe deck, warm-up areas, spectator zones, and access points; enforce posted meet safety rules; report concerns to Meet Referee and the team’s Safe Sport contact.
1) Positioning & Coverage
- Marshals positioned at locker room corridors, athlete entry points, warm-up lanes, and spectator cross-overs.
- Maintain visibility and remain identifiable (vest/badge). Rotate every 30–45 minutes.
2) Photography/Video Boundaries
- No photography from behind the blocks. Follow host restrictions for deck photography zones.
- No photos or video in locker rooms, restrooms, changing areas.
3) Locker Rooms & Changing Areas
- Periodic, two-adult walkthroughs; announce entry; address loitering or unsafe behavior.
- Report vandalism, bullying, or misconduct immediately to Meet Referee; document time/location.
4) Interaction Guidelines
- Friendly, professional reminders; avoid physical contact; escalate to officials when needed.
- All interactions must be observable and interruptible; avoid secluded conversations with minors.
5) Reporting & Documentation
- Use host’s incident log; serious matters reported to USA Swimming Safe Sport. Anonymous text: 888-270-SWIM.
- No retaliation against reporters or witnesses.
