Policies (MAAPP & Club Guidelines)

USA Swimming’s Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy (MAAPP) sets nationwide standards for how adults interact with minor athletes, including communications, travel, locker rooms, and one-on-one meetings. TEAMGOLDUSA aligns our club policies with MAAPP and Safe Sport Best Practice Guidelines.

  • Two-adult rule: Interactions with minor athletes should be observable and interruptible whenever possible.
  • Locker rooms & changing areas: No phones/cameras; monitoring by designated adults; privacy respected.
  • Electronic communication: Team channels preferred; one-on-one messages follow MAAPP and include parents when required.
  • Travel & transport: Clear rules for who may travel with whom, rooming lists, and written parent consent.
  • Boundaries & behavior: No bullying, hazing, grooming, or retaliation against anyone who reports a concern.
