Is TEAMGOLDUSA a Safe Sport Recognized Club?
Yes. TEAMGOLDUSA is identified as a USA Swimming Safe Sport Recognized Club through July 2028.
What does recognition mean?
Recognition reflects club-wide work involving education, MAAPP implementation, reporting procedures, and parent communication.
Who should report a concern?
Anyone who observes, experiences, or learns of concerning conduct should use the appropriate reporting pathway. Mandatory reporters must follow applicable legal requirements.
What should I do in an emergency?
Call 911 when a person is in immediate danger. Report suspected child abuse or criminal conduct promptly to the appropriate authorities.
Can I start with the club if I am unsure?
The TEAMGOLDUSA Safe Sport Coordinator can help with policy questions and appropriate club-level concerns, but urgent matters and allegations within external jurisdiction should be reported directly to the proper authority.
What is MAAPP?
MAAPP is the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy. It establishes boundaries for communication, one-on-one interaction, locker rooms, travel, transportation, lodging, and related activities.
Are parents allowed to observe?
TEAMGOLDUSA values appropriate parent awareness and communication. Facility rules, practice organization, and safety requirements may shape where observation occurs.
Can athletes report bullying or peer misconduct?
Yes. Athletes and parents should raise bullying, hazing, harassment, retaliation, or unsafe peer conduct through the appropriate team or USA Swimming channel.
Will someone be punished for a good-faith report?
Retaliation against a person making or participating in a good-faith report is inconsistent with Safe Sport principles and applicable policies.
