Swimmers move from learning basic strokes to mastering competitive technique, training with the pace clock, and participating in introductory local swim meets.Our bronze swimming group is typically an entry-level competitive or advanced (recreational) squad training group for young swimmers, focusing on stroke mechanics, basic endurance, and introductory racing skills. We promote Sportsmanship, Team Camaraderie and Spirit, and an introduction to aerobic training that progresses to anaerobic training, with an emphasis on developing solid starts, turns, finishes, and kick power and endurance. 50's of each stroke, the 100 IM, and introduction to distance swimming.Stroke Development: Refining all four competitive strokes (freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, and butterfly). Racing Skills: Learning legal turns, dives, and competitive starts. Stamina & Conditioning: Building an initial aerobic base with short training sets and drills. Team Etiquette: Teaching basic workout habits, lane etiquette, and pace clock use. Technique & Training GroupThe Gateway to Competitive SuccessThe Bronze Group bridges the gap between developmental swim lessons and advanced competitive racing. Swimmers transition from learning basic strokes to mastering competitive technique, learning to train using the pace clock, and participating in introductory local swim meets.Ages: Typically 7 to 10 years old.Prerequisites: Ability to swim 50 yards of continuous freestyle and backstroke, plus a basic understanding of breaststroke and butterfly.Weekly Commitment: 5 to 6 hours total weekly pool time.Schedule Options: 5 sessions per week (60 minutes each).Required Gold Gear PackEvery swimmer must arrive at the pool deck with their own training equipment. Swimmers will begin to work more with race strategy. Dryland takes on a greater importance to the athlete and will be emphasized with three dedicated sessions per week. Swimmers will be prepared for a successful transition into elite level senior swimming.
